
Camera Pictures
Every time Simon presses the big, green button, we get a picture. Taken with an x-ray and staying true to the appearance of the original game, I was tasked with creating each one from scratch.

THE PICTURES
The pictures Simon takes are pivotal in revealing his progress through his journey, as well as enlightening the audience as to what is happening outside the tight confines of the submarine's metallic shell. We encounter many key moments and landmarks, revealed to us solely through pictures alone.
Many of these pictures are a combination of 2D and 3D elements. I roughly sculpted floors, plants, tunnels, flesh mounds, bodies in the walls, ect. and then painted over them to direct light and atmosphere as well as I could.
Due to the sheer number of pictures, so many of these had to be created as quickly as possible. Iteration was also integral. Many of the pictures you see here had many variants, but these were the finals. I had to work closely with Mark to understand Simon's path and give a sense of continuity through zones and tunnels.
