THE EDEN TREE
Eden's last tree, and where everyone is destined to return. After the Quiet Rapture, this tree is all that remains of organic nature. It's worshiped like a God, a symbol of Eden's end and the cycle of life.

DESIGN
The idea for the tree and Eden itself was pretty loose. It never directly appears in the film, only mentioned in dialogue and in brief flashbacks. Therefore, my first concept piece was a shot in the dark. A massive, looming tree, cascaded by moons through a glass dome. And at its roots, a flourishing garden that hides a morbid secret.

Mutated Eden Tree
As Simon's mind mutates, so does the tree. He's haunted by the tree presenting as a womb, splitting down the center and revealing an amalgam of people. People who were buried in its soil now being reborn. This concept is not used in the film, but a piece I liked nonetheless.
